NNIO has partnered with Concord Group to construct four biopower plants across based on palm oil waste fuel. The power plants, built in various parts of Malaysia, will deliver power to the grid by using methaneas a fuel. Each plant will feature two INNIO Jenbacher Type 4 biogas engines, collectively delivering more than 8 MW of power to the grid. The fuel for the engines will be methane gas emitted as a waste product by existing palm oil mills. As part of its COP26 commitment, Malaysia seeks to enhance its National Renewable Energy Capacity target from a 20% increase to a 31% increase of renewables in the national energy mix by 2025.
