10MW GENERATORS TO POWER THE PLANT AT THE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE, AGODI, NIGERIA

n December 2024, the Oyo State Government commissioned the first phase of the 11 MW Oyo State Independent Power Project: a private investment by Elektron Energy. Oyo State is one of the 36 Federal Republic states which make up Nigeria.

 Mantrac CAT has taken the contract to supply the 10MW generators to the Oyo State Government House site. Mantrac Group is an end-to-end solutions provider and one of the world’s largest authorised Caterpillar dealer representatives.  A spokesman comments: "To put the importance of this project into perspective, Oyo State receives an average of 80 MW from the national grid. So, when this project is completed, it will mean an increase of 14% in total of the electricity being supplied in Oyo State, further reducing the energy deficit in the State.
