The Al Azeezah Solar-Storage Megaproject is a groundbreaking initiative in Abu Dhabi aimed at providing a continuous supply of renewable energy. It features a 5.2GW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant combined with a 19 gigawatt-hour (GWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This project is designed to overcome the intermittency challenges of renewable energy, ensuring reliable power generation around the clock. The facility is expected to deliver 1 GW of baseload renewable energy and is a significant step towards the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategy. The project is a testament to the UAE's commitment to clean energy and its role as a global leader in renewable energy deployment.
 The Al Azeezah Solar-Storage Megaproject has so far cost US$5.2 billion, with construction starting in March 2025 and completion expected in April 2028.
