National Aquaculture Group (NAQUA) is among the world’s largest aquaculture operations. Its unique location on the Red Sea - near Jeddah - with direct access to pristine waters far from industrial waste, allows it to control a 65km shoreline and oversee a large-scale operation.

The company relies on water pumps and power systems to support its major shrimp farms. The site’s pumping capacity goes up to 150m³ of clean seawater per second.
Water quality is continuously monitored and tested on a monthly basis. The grow-out unit comprises 80 nurseries and 77 super-intensive ponds. NAQUA also operates 18 farms with 547 open inland ponds, with the average pond size being 10 ha (semi-closed system).
The company’s total water area is spread over 4,485 ha / 65 km of coastline, while its annual grow capacity is 90.000 MT.
The Naqua Processing Plant is one of the largest of its kind in the world, with a capacity that goes up to 800 MT of shrimp per day. It boasts a modern, energy-intensive state-of-the-art processing facility which features a highly automated process with minimum raw material handling, as well as cutting-edge technology to produce superior quality products that are as fresh, tasty and nutritious as a new catch, reports the company.
