larke Energy has played a key role in Morocco’s energy future with its involvement in the Tendrara gas field project in Morocco. This strategic initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Italfluid Geoenergy Srl, has significantly enhances the country’s energy security and infrastructure plans.

To support this vital project, Clarke Energy has supplied and installed nine high-performance engines, designed to meet the operational needs of the site. These include:

– Seven INNIO Jenbacher JMS 612 gas engines (2260 kVA each)

– Two Rehlko engines (1600 kVA each).

The J612 is a part of the Type 6 family, a V12-cylinder power generation solution.  Type 6 engines include features designed to enhance heat recovery, assure stable combustion, reduce emissions, and increase efficiency  -  taking the Jenbacher line to new levels of performance, says the manufacturer.  These include a centrally-located purged pre-combustion chamber helps provide optimal ignition conditions.  The spark plug ignition energy is amplified in the pre-combustion chamber, facilitating stable and reliable combustion.  Miller valve timing creates reduced compression temperature and an increased safety margin to knocking limits, providing improved ignition timing and high efficiency.  All engines have been integrated into containerised systems, ensuring efficiency and resilience in the extreme desert conditions.

The Tendrara gas field development is structured in two key phases:

*Gas treatment and liquefaction – the processed gas will be transported by truck across Morocco, increasing energy accessibility.

*Pipeline infrastructure – the project will eventually power blowers for a future pipeline, reinforcing the national energy grid.

Additionally, the site will supply power to the technical platform currently under development, further expanding Morocco’s energy capabilities.

Clarke Energy has provided extensive expertise in designing and managing power generation systems which  can withstand extreme environments. The Tendrara site will operate efficiently in temperatures ranging from -15°C to +47°C, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply in the harsh desert climate.

"This project represents a major step forward in Morocco’s energy independence. Clarke Energy remains committed to delivering reliable, sustainable power solutions, supporting a cleaner energy future,"

reports the company.
