key diesel power generation plant, located at Ceuta, North Africa, will soon install a MIR 9000 analyzer as part of an emission monitoring solution provided by ENVEA to ENDESA of Spain. Ceuta lies along the boundary between the Med and the Atlantic and is one of nine populated Spanish territories in Africa.Installing the MIR 9000 will fulfil the IED Directive 2010/75/EU on Industrial Emissions and the implementation of BREF (best available techniques), says the company. Among ENDESA’s priorities is the gradual reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) associated with the generation of electrical energy – it is achieving this by increasing its presence in renewable energy and optimising the management of traditional technologies. ENDESA has a public commitment to decarbonise the energy mix by 2050,which will be attained by following the road map established in its Strategic Plan 2019-2021.
