urogen Power SRL has been involved in the turnkey supply of two 1,000 kVA diesel generators with Cummins engines and Leroy Somer alternators. These have been installed in the underground machinery rooms of the Genoa Aquarium where the power systems and other technical pumping equipment is based.
The project involved the turnkey replacement of two obsolete gensets with two new generator sets.
A spokesman comments: “With the support of our partners we took care of the removal of the old equipment, the reclamation of the premises, and the reassembly onsite of the new generator sets including soundproofing and cooling system with water/water exchangers.
He concludes: “We are proud and grateful to have been chosen for an ambitious project and for its successful conclusion.”
The Aquarium of Genoa has recently dedicated a new room to Marine Protected Areas - this aims to spread awareness of biodiversity protection, with particular reference to Liguria (Bergeggi Island, Cinque Terre, Portofino, Capo Mortola, Porto Venere.
Located on the first floor of the exhibition itinerary, the room has four tanks with numerous species of Mediterranean fish and invertebrates and three video stations where the public can see examples of sealife from the Ligurian Marine Protected Areas and - thanks to an underwater webcam system - dive in real time into the seabed of the Marine Protected Area of Bergeggi Island.
