ower Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, an FG Wilson dealer in Sri Lanka, supported the critical installation of a P88-3 prime power diesel generator set at a remote location in Sri Lanka. The FG Wilson canopied unit is supporting an interesting and sophisticated farming operation in Sri Lanka, supported by local investors. This specific agricultural project involves using soil less hydroponic and vertical techniques to optimise output by around 300 times per acre and reducing the land requirement from 10 acres to 1 acre, while maintaining low operational costs.
The power supply from the local electricity grid in Sri Lanka is unreliable which meant the farm was suffering from frequent power outages. Based in a remote location, it is vital that the farm has a constant and reliable source of power. The project manager required a dependable and quality product to provide that power and after consideration approached Power Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd for the supply and installation of a FG Wilson genset. The FG Wilson genset will be used to control the temperature in the green houses by powering the motors to open and close the roof windows, the pumps for the cooling pads and powering the ventilation fans and lights. Each function can be remotely controlled and provides the customer with the peace of mind that this crop will not suffer from the extreme temperatures often experienced in Sri Lanka.
