B Energy (UK) Ltd has begun the installation of two ECOMAX 27 cogeneration units at a facility in the Hull, UK. Each of these has a power of 2,679 KWe and comes equipped with two Codinox systems to clean exhaust gases. This setup will allow the purified CO2 to be reused for greenhouse fertilization, enhancing plant growth.
The ECOMAX greenhouse solution has been designed to provide a cogeneration system which ensures the simultaneous production of electrical energy, thermal energy, and CO2.The electricity produced can be used for artificial lighting in the greenhouse or fed into the local distribution grid. The generated heat supports the production of hot water, both high and low temperature, useful for heating and air conditioning buildings. Additionally, the CO2 contained in the exhaust gases, once purified and cooled, acts as a natural fertilizer, promoting healthier and more vigorous plant growth. The plant will be commissioned in October 2024.
