OHLER has provided a replacement 1,500 kVA diesel generator for The Carlton Hotel on the French Riviera, Cannes, France. A spokesman for the installer, SUD ENERGIE, commented: "Our design office carried out the design phase upstream of this project. Sud Energie engineers then developed the various studies and calculation notes (Acoustics, Aeraulics, etc.) in order to meet the specifications (CCTP). This large-scale project required the mobilization of all Sud Energie teams and our partners, from the handling of the genset to the installation of the exhaust chimney to the roof of the building (carried out with the help of rope operators), this project highlighted the skills and know-how of our employees."
The KOHLER KD1500, 60 Hz Industrial Diesel Generator features a Standby Range (kW/kVA) 1320-1500/1655-1875 and a Prime Range (kW/kVA) 1150-1350/1438-1688.
Frequency is 60 Hz and Speed 1800 RPM. The Alternator is a Brushless, Permanent-Magnet Pilot Exciter. This pilot-excited, permanent-magnet (PM) alternator provides superior short-circuit capability. It meets NEMA MG1, IEEE, and ANSI standards compliance for temperature rise and motor starting. It can achieve a sustained short-circuit current of up to 300% of the rated current for up to 10 seconds and enables down stream circuit breakers to trip without collapsing the alternator field. It features a self-ventilated and drip-proof construction and offers excellent load response.
