haddar Machinery Co. has installed two 1000 kVA generator sets, each powered by a Cummins engine coupled with a TAL049E Leroy Somer alternator, for a manufacturer based in Iraq. The client is a company operating an oxidized bitumen plant in Karbala province in Iraq. Oxidized bitumen under controlled temperature conditions is widely used as an anti-slip layer compound in the piling industry, for manufacture of roofing felts, the roofing and waterproofing industries, for sound dampening felts and under carriage sealant in the automotive industry, electric cable joint protection, joint filling compound, sealant compound and many others. Also used in sealing saw cuts and joints where expected movements are minimum. It is also used in the manufacturing of bituminous marine mastic for the oil & gas pipeline joints.
The TAL alternator range used both gensets is designed to meet the general needs of stand-by and prime power applications in telecom, commercial and industrial markets. Products in the TAL series are manufactured to Leroy-Somer high quality standards and are built with class H insulation materials. The single bearing alternator can be coupled with the majority of diesel engines to make a highly efficient diesel generator. The single bearing alternator can be coupled with the majority of diesel engines to make an efficient diesel generator. The maximum prime power output is 1000 kVA and the maximum standby power output is 1100 kVA (50 Hz, three phase, 0.8 power factor).
