aste gas from a landfill site in Itajaí, a city located in the state of Santa Catarina, is now producing energy thanks to two ECOMAX® 12 generators installed by AB Grupo SRL. These now provide a power supply of more than 2MW. The plant is fuelled by biogas from the landfill which goes through a process of dehumidification and compression. The raw gas is treated with a SILEX system, an AB solution which removes not only siloxanes, but also other harmful components of biogas. The operation and maintenance of the biogas plant for energy generation is carried out by AB's highly-qualified technical team which is providing preventive and corrective maintenance, allowing the plant to operate with excellent availability. The ECOMAX LANDFILL line is the key solution for transforming waste into a renewable energy source, says the company. With the ECOMAX® Landfill Gas line, AB offers a series of solutions to transform the controlled storage of waste into electrical and thermal energy, to be used directly on site or to be transferred to the network. A renewable energy source is provided by the waste stored in landfills which feeds the cogeneration plants.
