hree KD2800 diesel generators were installed by Fidelity Power Systems team for a local utility provider. The project included several KD2800 KOHLER Energy generators with custom sound enclosures, subbase day tanks, load banks, and paralleling switchgear. Fidelity's technicians completed their work onsite and also completed start-ups and commissioning operations.
This generator set is powered by a KD62V12A-5DFS (KD series) engine. The gensets and its components feature a wide range of options which have been fully developed, prototype tested, factory built, and production-tested. The generator sets are designed in accordance with ISO8528-5 performance class G3. The gensets are described as smooth running thanks to engine conception and integral vibration isolation mounts between components and skid.
The KD62V12A-5DFS (KD series) engine offers low fuel consumption thanks to a high technology common rail injection engine and has a smaller footprint thanks to a high power density. It has a low temperature starting capability and offers long maintenance intervals.
The alternator gives an industry leading motor starting capability plus an excitation system to permit sustained overcurrent > 300% In, during 10 sec. It is built with a class H insulation and IP23.
Cooling is provided by a flexible solution using an electrical driven radiator fan. It offers a high temperature and altitude product capacity, running without power derating.
