Authorities in Kazakhstan have announced the near completion of the Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) in Astana - the project has been achieved with the key assistance of Komek Machinery Kazakhstan LLP.
The project, implemented with the participation of international partners Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Komatsu Ltd., envisions the creation of the largest centre in Central Asia for the overhaul and remanufacturing of Komatsu mining and construction equipment components.
During a recent meeting, the companies involved discussed the current status of the project, including the progress of construction and installation work, the preparation of production infrastructure, and the commissioning schedule.
Special attention was paid to localization of production and the implementation of advanced technologies. The centre's technological solutions are being developed jointly with Japanese engineers and provide for the full remanufacturing cycle of key components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems. The project also includes the establishment of in-house production of high-pressure hoses and cylinders, as well as the creation of a modern oil analysis laboratory. The project includes equipping the complex with modern technological equipment from leading international manufacturers, including Japan, the USA, and Europe, as well as the use of domestically produced equipment.
The total investment volume is approximately 10 billion tenge, and the complex's production area is approximately 23,000 square meters. The project will create over 100 new jobs. Construction began in September 2025, and commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
It is worth noting that the project has received high-level development support: in December 2025, during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Japan, the company's plans for the implementation and further development of the project in Kazakhstan were discussed with Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Subsequently, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Astana City Akimat, KAZAKH INVEST National Company JSC, Komek Machinery Kazakhstan LLP, and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Komatsu Ltd.
Following the meeting, the strategic significance of the project for the development of the mechanical engineering and service industries in the Republic of Kazakhstan was noted, and the importance of continued effective cooperation between the parties in its implementation was emphasised.
