iemens Energy and Air Liquide have established a joint venture (JV) on hydrogen electrolyser production plant. Work on the Berlin-based plant plant will commence in 2023, where there is already a multi-gigawatt facility for the production of electrolysis modules. Once it is commercially-active  the facility is projected to achieve an annual capacity of 3GW by 2025 and will supply stacks to both groups for their respective customers and to serve what is anticipated as a rapidly growing market. Siemens Energy and other companies have committed to a ten-fold scale-up in electrolyser production in Europe – from approximately 1.75GW/year currently to 17.5GW/year – by 2025.
