wo 2000Kw Rehlko (formerly Kohler Energy) containerised emergency generators have been supplied to Designer Group for the Diageo distillery in Guadalajara in Mexico.
The Diageo distillery is best known for manufacturing brands of spirits such as Johnnie Walker scotch whisky, Buchanan’s, Guinness, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Zacapa Rum, Baileys, Black & White, Tanqueray, Tequila Don Julio and Mezcal Unión, Smirnoff Tamarind Vodka and Don Julio Tequila - currently Mexico’s No. 1 tequila.
In October 2024 DE Power engineers travelled out to Mexico to commission the complete generator and control system which had been designed and built by DE Power in Ireland. Assistance was provided by the local Rehlko dealer, Generata who will be responsible for local support and future maintenance.

The distillery’s new generator set - the T2000 kW diesel generator - is approved for use with certified renewable Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) / Renewable Diesel (RD) fuels compliant with EN15940 / ASTM D975 and comes with a one-source responsibility for the generating system and accessories.
The generator set and its components are prototype-tested, factory-built, and production-tested. Each set offers reduced operating costs, reduced fuel consumption, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions and has a Conscious Care™ maintenance program. Each set includes a pilot-excited, permanent magnet (PM) alternator designed to provides superior short circuit capability. The alternator offers a sustained short-circuit current of up to 300% of the rated current for up to 10 seconds.
