GM has provided a 1001 kVA Standby generator powered by a Cummins KTA38-G14 engine and equipped with a MECC ALTE alternator for a correctional facility prison located in Victoria,  Australia.

CGM (C.G.M. Gruppi Elettrogeni) is an Italian manufacturer of power generators, established in 1980. The company is known for its commitment to innovation and quality, producing a wide range of generators suitable for various applications, including residential and industrial needs. CGM has grown from a small local distributor to a global manufacturer, with a focus on customer satisfaction and sustainable energy solutions. The company is recognized for its in-house production and has expanded its product range to include generators with diesel and gasoline engines, catering to diverse international markets.

A spokesman for the company said: "Our CGM 910CU has been selected specifically for an emergency application in a prison in Victoria, Australia. This package involves a 910 kVA PRP | 1001 kVA Standby generator powered by a Cummins KTA38-G14 engine and equipped with a MECC ALTE alternator designed to guarantee continuity and security in every situation."

The set features:  a soundproof enclosure; an automatic control panel Comap AMF25;  advanced options like PMG. A Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) is designed to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy using the magnetic fields created by permanent magnets. Unlike conventional generators that rely on electromagnets and external power sources for excitation, PMGs use permanent magnets mounted on the rotor, which simplifies their design and enhances efficiency., anti-condensation heater, pre-heating system, tropicalised alternator.

THE GENSET: The CGM CGM 910CU Industrial power generator 728kW open version B1700, CUMMINS motor,  three-phase 400V, manual or automatic start and an AVR voltage regulation. These industrial generators are designed to ensure reliability and high performance in every situation, from harsh environments to critical sectors such as construction, healthcare, telecommunications and the military. With robust materials, advanced technology and noise reduction systems, they provide continuous power for homes, businesses, factories and infrastructure. They are also considered ideal for emergencies and humanitarian projects, they ensure constant operation in all conditions, contributing to safety, comfort and efficiency in essential areas.

THE ENGINE:  The Cummins KTA38-G14 engine is a robust and efficient diesel engine designed for various power generation applications. It is recognized for its performance, reliability, and durability, making it suitable for standby and prime power applications. The engine is capable of operating at both 50 and 60 Hz frequencies and has a wide voltage range, ensuring it can handle continuous, prime, or standby applications.

The KTA38-G14 engine is engineered to meet the demands of the harshest operating environments, with a very high derating threshold for temperatures, altitudes, and humidity. It is also designed to stay cool in the hottest places on earth, with a cooling system that meets Limiting Ambient Temperature (LAT) up to 50°C at continuous rating.

The engine's versatility and robustness make it a preferred choice for industries that require reliable power generation solutions. Its ability to operate in extreme conditions and its high performance capabilities make it a top performer in the market.

THE GENSET CONTROLLER: The Comap AMF25 is an advanced single gen-set controller designed for standby and prime power applications. It offers intuitive, flexible, and easy installation, allowing users to control and monitor their generator sets both on-site and remotely. Key features include:

-Remote communication support for monitoring sites anytime, anywhere.

-AirGate technology for internet access without needing static IP addresses.

-Optional geofencing to prevent unauthorized use of the generator set.

-Built-in PLC logic for efficient setup and monitoring.

-High-level security features to ensure data safety and protection.

This controller is designed for both stand-by and prime power applications, making it a versatile choice for generator management, reports the manufacturer

CGM industrial generators are designed for reliability, durability and high performance even under the most extreme conditions. Built with structural steel sheets and sound-absorbing coatings, they offer solid mechanical protection and significant noise reduction, making them ideal for urban settings and sensitive environments. Their versatility makes them suitable for multiple applications: construction sites, factories, tourist facilities, hospitals, data centres, commercial activities and military installations.

Equipped with advanced technologies and high-performance components, CGM generators ensure power continuity for security installations, industrial machinery and sensitive electronic devices, even during power outages. They offer customizable configurations, long range tanks, fuel filtration systems, simplified opening for maintenance, anti-theft options and remote control, ideal for installations in isolated or unmanned areas.

In the telecommunications sector, they provide continuous power for mobile towers and wireless devices; in agriculture, they power irrigation and conservation systems; and in health care, they keep life-saving devices running. The CGM range also covers humanitarian and emergency needs, such as in temporary post-disaster camps, providing a stable and secure source in any critical situation.

With a focus on environmental friendliness and reduced consumption, CGM generators are a strategic choice for those seeking power, reliability and adaptability, ensuring continuous operation and safety in any application context.
