Ansaldo Energia Awarded a new 430 MW Gas Combined Cycle Plant Contract

ren S.p.A., through its subsidiary Iren Energia S.p.A., has signed a contract with Ansaldo Energia for the construction of a new combined gas cycle plant. The whole project will be worth approximately €180 million, and will provide increased installed capacity at the Turbigo site, outside Milan, Italy, which is all-natural-gas-fed, from the current 850 MW to around 1,280 MW. The expansion of the capacity for 430 MW will be financed by Capacity Market auctions planned to resume once the Corona Virus Emergency has ended.
