KSA USA has just supplied three gensets  -  2 x 1000kW and 1 x 100kW -  to a  refrigerated  warehouse based in  Las Vegas. A company spokesman comments:

   AKSA's AP 1000(50Hz) diesel genset has a PERKINS - 4008TAG1A engine  turbocharged  (8 cylinders - in line). The Perkins 4000 Series family of 6, 8, 12 and 16 cylinder diesel engine was designed in advance of today’s uncompromising demands within the power generation industry and includes superior performance and reliability,  reports PERKINS. 
 The 4008TAG1A/2A Electropaks are turbo-charged, air-to-air charge cooled, 8 cylinder in-line diesel engines. Offered with either Temperate or Tropical cooling packages (with or without fuel cooling). Their premium design and specification features provide economic and durable operation as well as exceptional power to weight ratio, improved serviceability, low gaseous emissions, overall performance and reliability essential to the power generation market. 
    Each set features a Mecc Alte - ECO 43-2S/4 A alternator (4-pole) with many special  product features designed into the alternator.  Self-regulation is achieved through a digital electronic regulator which is fed by an auxiliary winding. MECC ALTE guarantees an almost constant supply from the generator – under any possible operating condition.  A rotating inductor is fitted with a damper cage. The windings have a 2/3 pitch in order to reduce the harmonic content of voltage. The entire series is manufactured according to, and complies with, the most common specifications such as CEI 2-3, IEC 34-1, EN 60034-1, VDE 0530, BS 4999-5000, CAN/ CSA-C22.2 No14-95- No100-95. 
    Each genset comes with a DSE 7320 control panel -  this is a feature-packed Auto Mains (Utility) Failure Control Module designed to control single diesel or gas genset applications. A heated display option ensures the display continues to operate in extreme cold weather conditions. A 3-phase generator and mains (utility) sensing provides true generator and mains (utility). Power monitoring (kW h, kV Ar, kV Ah, kV Ar h)  provides clear accurate power measurement information. sensing.  Remote communications (RS232 & RS485)  provides secure and simple offsite monitoring. All ports are continuously active.  There are configurable inputs/outputs (9/8) to provide multiple installation options.   
   The DSE 7320 has CAN and magnetic pick-up sensing which makes the module ideal for standard and electronic engine applications. Fuel usage monitor and low-level alarms track the amount of fuel being used and sounds an alarm if over/under fuel use is detected.  Tier 4 CAN engine support ensures the control module can be used with the latest in modern electronic engine technology. Manual/automatic load transfer ensures the load can be transferred manually/automatically between mains (utility) and generator power. 
DSE Configuration Suite PC Software provides complete user-friendly configuration and easy-to-use high-level system control & monitoring. 
  AK 96-AP1125 canopy: all canopy parts are designed with modular principles and  are painted with electrocstatic polyester powder paint. There are lockable doors on each side.  
There is  acoustic fire retardant foam inside the enclosure which  features an aluminium internal floor, residental silencer,  four lifting points, easy maintenance and operation, a choice of colours -  black/yellow (RAL 9005 / RAL 1003). An emergency stop push button is installed outside the canopy. Each genset  has a steel base frame and anti-vibration isolators, a spare external fuel tank (open set), flexible fuel connection hoses,  Industrial exhaust silencer and steel bellows supplied separately and  Static battery charger.
