Located in the heart of the ICE District, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is the Grand Villa Casino. Grand Villa offers 60,000 square feet of gaming, dining, and entertainment. The need for reliable backup power is paramount, given the amount of people and high profile events that are hosted in the district by Grand Villa. To provide key prime and backup power, the Casino recently installed a 800kWe generator.
Due to the visibility and location of the generator set, Blue Star Power Systems, Inc. was chosen to provide the highly-reliable equipment. The Model MD800-01 rated 800 kWe was selected for this casino application. The unit is powered by a Mitsubishi S12A2- Y2PTAW-2 diesel engine which drives a 574RSS4278 Alternator. The unit is housed in a Level 3 sound attenuated enclose and mounted on top of a 675-gallon double wall UL 142 listed fuel tank. The critical grade silencer is mounted inside the enclosure to further enhance the aesthetic of the unit. The unit is controlled by a Blue Star Power Systems, Inc. DGC-2020 digital control panel.
