one Star Power Solutions, the southern U.S. distributor for Capstone Green Energy Corporation, has been contracted to provide an additional 800-kW C800S Signature Series microturbine to a large West Texas energy company. The contract follows a 3.6 MW Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) contract with the producer earlier in 2023. The West Texas energy producer is using the microturbine energy systems to power production loads using the on-site gas produced from its day-to-day operations. According to Capstone, its EaaS solution was selected due to its record of reliability in remote oil and gas fields globally and its extremely low emissions profile, as the energy producer looks to decarbonize its operations. The C800S provides up to 800kw of electric power and contains four air bearing microturbines. The Signature Series Microturbine provides ultra-low emissions and reliable electrical/thermal generation. Other benefits include:
